You have several places where you can enjoy beautiful Lisbon sights once the capital of Portugal is formed by several hills. That is why Lisbon is known as the city of the seven hills. These places are called “miradouros” (belvederes) and in some of them you have very nice esplanades, specially in the sunny days of Lisbon weather.

Here are the some of the best belvederes of Lisbon where you can enjoy the serenity of the city and the river.

Miradouro da Graça - Located in Graça old neighborhood where you can enjoy an open view of the center and the Castle, under the Pine trees in a calm surroudings.

Miradouro do Castelo - It is located in the Castle premises and the view is fantastic to downtown and the tagus river. Here you will feel all the history of this city.

Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcantara - Located near one of best known typical neighborhood, Bairro Alto, famous for its restaurants and night life.

Miradouro de Santa Luzia - In Castelo neighborhood here you have beautiful views of the west part of the city and the tagus river.

Elevador de Santa Justa - Located right in the center of downtown city, this elevator gets you from the Rua do Ouro to Largo do Carmo just right in the noblest part of the city. It was built in 1902 by the french Raul Mesnier de Ponsard.

Miradouro de Nossa Senhora do Monte - Near Graça, located more north and west, it has also beautiful views to the city.
