Golf Course Description

Situated in one of the best-known regions of the Algarve, between Albufeira and Armação de Pêra, is already a "postcard" of Portuguese golf. In fact, the proximity of the sea and the variety of lakes make this a very interesting test of golfing skills, different from other courses in the Algarve.The original project is by the Portuguese designer Pedro de Vasconcelos, with more recent contributions from other Portuguese architects. But the final layout has been heavily influenced by Robert Muir Graves.

The-6,000 metre links, replete with water obstacles, is not very long, yet you will need all your skills to reach the greens. The accuracy of the drive is crucial for achieving good scores, thus making the course a pleasant experience, especially for technically-skilled player.

The eighteen holes are well-balanced, as each half of the course has two par 5 holes of around 500 metres, and three par 3 of more than 170 metres par for the course is 72.

If you want to try other golf courses, you must know that you have at a few kilometres several fine golf courses. To the west, the courses Gramacho and Vale da Pinta located in Lagoa and to the east the Pine Cliffs Golf Course after Albufeira.

Culture

Near this Golf Course you have several cities that deserves a visit. The historical Silves where you can almost live the history in the well preserved castle. Carvoeiro, which is a beautiful coast village in the rocks and Portimao an old industrial city with its touristic place named Praia da Rocha and to the East the most touristic of Algarve, Albufeira.

Beaches

This golf course is a distance of few hundred of metres from the Beach, a long white sandy beach. But, if you prefer, you have other several good beaches you can go. To the west, the Praia Grande, away from the crowd and right after the more crowded Armação de Pera beach. To the East you have the beautiful beaches of Galé, Evaristo and São Rafael along the rocky coast which form unique small places you must not miss.
